Julian Melhuish was the lead designer and architect of Toyota's current master brand evolution. The project began at Saatchi & Saatchi and continued at Melhuish & Co. How do you re-design and standardise one of the biggest brands in Australia? Slowly, carefully, diligently, and with a zealous (occasionally fanatical) attention to detail. The brand guidelines exist in print, online and user-ready templates. Working closely with the marketing division this was a massive task, and one of the biggest exercises in brand guidelines we’ve ever undertaken. The brand touchpoints were extensive, incorporating co-branding, sponsorship, environmental design, advertising and online.
